Family-Friendly Easter Activities in Albuquerque

Are you going to be in Albuquerque for Easter this year?  Wondering how to celebrate the holiday, especially with kids?  Here’s some recommendations to ensure everyone has a great time.

Family Friendly Easter In Albuquerque

Easter Egg Hunt

6718 Rio Grande Blvd NW, Los Ranchos, NM 87107
April 20th, 2019; 10:00 AM

Technically, this is the day before Easter, but you can’t miss an Easter Egg Hunt.  Go to Hartnett Park on April 20th, 2019 for the Easter Egg Hunt (kids are sorted into age groups to keep things fair) and then meet the Easter Bunny.  The Bernalillo County Fire Department comes out as well, and everyone will love getting to explore the fire truck.

Brunch At Pueblo Harvest Cafe

2401 12th St NW, Albuquerque, NM 87104
April 21st, 2019; 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Head to Pueblo Harvest Cafe on Easter Sunday for a spectacular Easter Brunch Buffet.  The omelet station lets you customize to your heart’s content, and the turkey with red chile can’t be beat.  With multiple stations, everyone can find multiple delicious dishes and then finish with fresh local desserts.  Call ahead for reservations, as spots fill up quick!

Lunch With The Easter Bunny

2201 Uptown Loop Rd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110
April 21st, 2019; 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM

It’s rare to recommend a chain restaurant for vacation meals, but Melting Pot is always delicious, and it’s a great chance for kids to get to meet the Easter Bunny.  The menu includes a cheese course, salad, meat trays, and, of course, chocolate fondue with Peeps, fruits, and sweet treats for dipping.  When you walk in, kids have the opportunity to choose an egg and win a prize, but everyone will feel like a winner by the time you’re done.

Paint Pottery

6829 4th St NW, Albuquerque, NM 87107
April 21st, 2019; 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM

Want to do something creative on Easter?  Go to Kelly Jo Designs for a family-friendly pottery painting session!  Everyone can pick a piece from their varied selection of bisque, paint it, and then have it fired, giving you a great souvenir to take home.  It’s a great opportunity to spend time together as a family or to meet new people.

Picnic at Tiguex Park

Maybe you don’t want to deal with the crowded restaurants or you just want to enjoy the beautiful weather in New Mexico.  Instead, create your own Easter Dinner.  Stop at Kellers Farm Store for a barbecue picnic dinner (which includes your choice of slow-smoked meat, three sides, and dinner rolls), then head to The Candy Lady for some amazing desserts (green chile pinon brittle for the adults, and chocolate-covered oreos for the kids), then take everything to Tiguex Park.  You’ll find a beautiful spot to enjoy your meal, and a great playground for the kids to work off some energy.  By the time you head back to the hotel, everyone will be happy and ready to relax.
